We use the cold process method for many reasons but in short we believe it keeps the ingredients healing properties intact, the bars are smoother than hot process and it is the most intimate way to make soap from scratch.
Around 28 days! Prep takes about twenty minutes, the labor is around an two hour which includes melting oils, mixing lye, maintaining temperature ranges, pouring into molds and storing it in an insulted area. Not including the clean up time! Then after the 24 hours, blocks are cut into bars and stored for a minimum of 4 weeks before sold.
Cold process soap needs to cure for a minimum of four weeks. Curing time is a fancy way of saying the soap needs to dry out so the bar is harder and lasts more washes. Depending on how long the bar takes to lose its water depends on its release date.
Yes, we make, test and release everything on our site.
We have in the past, and we will continue to. This is so important to us because we have the tools to customize and understand that everyone has different skin needs.
Fragrance oils are scents made in labs and labeled and marketed as "skin safe" they are not natural or come from nature. Essential oils are scents that are natural and from the plant or fruit it's labeled as. Base oils are the oils used in quantity to create the soap like olive, coconut and shea.
